I am writing this letter to you personally because I know you. You're someone close to me — someone I have regular contact with. You are someone I care about and who has a special place in my life. I do not mention your name but when you read this letter you will know if I am speaking to you personally.
You are a special someone. You have so many special gifts and talents. I am amazed when I hear and see what you are working and doing! I also notice how you care for those close to you, but also for others. I have great respect for you as a person and my connection with you is very special to me.
I also know that you have been through difficult times in your life. I know that you are struggling in your mind with certain events and people in your past that have had a negative impact on your life. I also know that sometimes you experience emotional pain and that you are not unfamiliar with disappointments, heart aches, and unfulfilled expectations.
However, there is one thing about you that I don't know — and I MUST know! Please help me! Because I know you personally, there is a deep concern in my heart because I am not sure if you have a living relationship with Jesus Christ, and that you are saved and ready for eternity if you were to die today! I don't know if you are sure — but I'm not sure that you are sure! Won't you please help me find assurance! It is unbearable for me to be unsure of one of my family or friends' eternal destiny. I will never be able to forgive myself if I have to discover at Jesus Christ's return (which, by the way, is very near) that you are not there — and I have done nothing to warn you and guide you on the right path!
Sal jy my asseblief help om sekerheid te verkry deur die volgende vrae te beantwoord:
1. Do you have a testimony of salvation? Has there been a day in your life when you surrendered your life to Jesus Christ and you turned your back on sin and your sinful nature? Have you repented, and broken with all sin in your life? (E.g., Matthew 9:13; Acts 2:38; Hebrews 3:19) By the way, sin is resistance and opposition to, and disobedience to God’s Word, His law, will, and plan for your life as revealed to us in the Bible. Repentance is submitting to the Word, law, will, and plan of God for your life as revealed in the Bible.
2. Do you have a testimony of regeneration? Have you received the testimony of the Holy Spirit in your heart that you are born again? Have you received the testimony of the Holy Spirit that your sins are forgiven, that you are saved and will forever be with Jesus Christ in heaven if you die today? (E.g., John 3:3; Romans 8:15,16)
3. Has your life changed? Have you received a new life in Jesus Christ? Do you have a desire to please God in your life? (E.g., 2 Corinthians 5:17)
4. Do you have a desire to read the Bible and pray, and learn more about God's will and plan for your life? (e.g., Ephesians 6:12-18)
5. Do you have a desire for spiritual fellowship with other born-again children of the Lord and to meet together around His Word? Can you and I talk to each other about the Lord Jesus' work in our lives? (E.g. 1 John 1:3,6,7) (You'll notice that my question is not whether you go to church regularly, though that's an outflow of this! I'm also not asking whether you can have a theological conversation!)
6. Do you have a desire to share the Gospel and your testimony of regeneration with others, and to be a witness for Jesus Christ? (E.g., Acts 1:8)All six of the above points are biblical signs and symptoms of true salvation, and if one or more of these points are missing from your life, you have good reason to doubt your salvation. You may read more about regeneration and how to be born again at this link.
If you have answered 'yes' to ALL SIX of the above questions, please let me know! (I'm the one who shared the link to this message with you.) You may simply reply to me on my social media by saying, "Yes—all six!" Then I will have assurance that you are saved! Then I will have peace of mind. This is also a witnessing opportunity for you, and by responding to this message you will be helping others to take these questions seriously – see below.
If you answered "no" to ANY ONE OR MORE of the above questions, there are two possibilities -- either, you've never been born again, or you've lost your first love, your lamp has gone out, and you're living in a broken relationship with Jesus Christ. However, I have to say to you in all love, there is a strong possibility that you are still lost! If you think or believe you are saved, you may be building your faith on a false foundation! Then you may still be heading for eternal hell without God and without hope!
Please don't get me wrong, I hereby don't condemn or judge you! On the contrary, it is from the love of my heart that I warn you and beg you to settle your relationship with God before it is too late! I repeat, I will never forgive myself if you are lost and I did not warn you! Please follow this link RIGHT NOW to read how you can be born again!
(If you answered "no" to any one or more of the above questions, you don't have to reply to me. I will in any case continue to pray for your salvation — until I receive a "Yes—all six!" reply from you and receive peace of mind that you are saved!)
If you answered 'yes' to all of the above questions, I request you, in terms of point 6, to also share this message with your family and friends so that you can have peace of mind that there is no ‘blood guilt’ on your hands. (Matt 27:25; Acts 20:26,27)
